Reading and downloading

You can read guides and use the workbook without creating an account or joining an email list. Copies you download and fill in stay under your control; please do not submit confidential customer information through our contact form.

Contact messages

The contact form collects your name, email address, selected topic, and message. We use those details to handle your request and reply when appropriate. Contact messages are stored in the site's inbox; sending one does not subscribe you to Field Notes.

Field Notes subscriptions

The optional subscription form collects your email address, optional name, and consent. You must confirm your email address before receiving Field Notes. We record subscription and confirmation status and use your details to manage the list and send the emails you requested. You can unsubscribe using the link in a Field Notes email.

Operating the site

Hosting and mail service providers process information needed to operate this site and deliver messages on our behalf. Technical information, such as IP addresses and request details, may be processed for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. Cookies or similar storage support site functions such as authentication and form security.

We do not sell contact messages or subscriber addresses. We do not require newsletter signup as a condition of accessing the free resources.

Requests and corrections

Use the contact form to ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Include the email address associated with your request, but do not send passwords or identity documents. We may ask you to verify control of that email address before acting on a request.

Information is retained while needed for the purpose described here, security, or applicable obligations. A request may not remove records that must be kept for those reasons. This notice will be updated when the site's data practices change.
